So following on from the start of our countdown yesterday to the Wedding Fair at Bluewater, part one of our wedding worries special kicks off with choosing your photographer. Always a toughie so click through and have a look at this guest blog post, by Kent photographer Rebecca Douglas, who talks you through the process. A must read for anyone still debating who will capture their big day.

Oh and we do love an engagement shoot. They are a great way to get to know your photographer and get a feel for the type of images you want taken on your big day. Have a sneak peek at Love in Paris and Bluebells and Fairytales for a bit of engagement shoot inspiration. If you’re still not sure read this useful post from Offbeat Bride which gives you some darn good reasons why you should partake in a shoot, especially if you’re a bit camera shy. Also check out their engagement shoot ideas board.

Plus if you’ve ever wondered how your mate always looks great in pics whilst you’re sporting a double chin and red eye then read this article on iVillage. This way you might actually get tagged in a wedding Facebook picture where you look half human, although after years of trying I’m still yet to perfect that one…..

Happy Posing!

Andy Stonier from Howling Basset shared with us todays super wedding snap. He tells us……

“Michelle and Altino were married last Sunday at Rye Town Hall. Michelle is shy and so wanted to avoid the limelight and as much fuss as she could. The Rye Town Crier thought otherwise…..”

Congratulations to Michelle and Altino and have a great weekend everyone!

Todays super wedding snap really captures a calm moment before the ceremony begins. Alan Langley of Dover Design tells us “It was taken at Cooling Castle Barn and shows such real emotion from the Groom.”

For us we love it as it captures one of those precious few moments you have to yourself, when you can just stop for a minute and take in your day as it unfolds. Just gorgeous.

In a new feature we’re bringing you one awesome shot from a wedding that really tells the story of the day. Our first is a beautiful image from the very gorgeous, Kerry Ann Duffy. Kerry tells us “I love taking beautiful photos but most of all I like to capture emotion and this photo gets me everytime I look at it. It was a beautiful moment shared between mother and daughter and I think it is so lovely.” So do we!

When planning your engagement shoot returning to the place you fell in love or the scene of the proposal is a great way to really bring out your romantic side. A pre-wedding shoot is frankly a must before the big day. You need to get to know your photographer and be really sure you want them to capture your day and so an engagement shoot ticks all the right boxes.

This engagement shoot, by Funky Pixel, took the couple to Paris, the home of romance, to really bring out the lurveee. Using inspiration from your engagement shoot is a great way to pull elements of your personality into your wedding day, whether you’re bringing Paris to Kent or the other way around!
