Capped sleeves in our opinion are making a welcome come back within wedding dress design. If like us you love a different neckline to choose from then the range from Justin Alexander will be perfect for you. The new style has been easily captured in one fab blog post from the designer which says, “capped sleeves add a touch of vintage glamour you can’t get with any other accessory. This very ladylike feature frames the face and bust perfectly to achieve a modest, chic, and very elegant bridal look”. We couldn’t agree more. Check out the full blog post here.

Kent suppliers include Bell’amore in Bexleyheath and Tantrums & Tiaras in Sittingbourne.
This blogging business means you literally spend hours at the laptop looking through wedding sites and fashion blogs. So it only stands to reason that occasionally your concentration slips and you click a fashion advert by complete mistake. Once there things just seem to fly into the shopping basket and you’ve checked out before you can say “I really was researching blog posts honest”.
This week though I’ve come up trumps as whilst
online shopping carrying out my research I’ve found newly launched wedding dresses from high street stores TK Maxx, Monsoon and Phase Eight that are scrumptious. I’m not totally in love with all the dresses but there are some absolute gems hidden in the ranges at fantastic prices. Here are my top picks to get you started – you’ll then need to carry out your own….ahem…research.
TK Maxx, £269.99
Monsoon Annabel Dress, £249
Monsoon Nina Dress, £229
Monsoon Petruska Dress, £399
Phase Eight, Mariette, £650
Phase Eight, Saphia Dress, £495
Carla and Don couldn’t have made their wedding anniversary more special and easier to remember if they tried. Their wedding date and time was 12/12/12 at 12:12 noon and the ceremony took place at Mount Ephraim Gardens in Faversham. Here Carla tells us their wedding story.
“Mount Ephraim Gardens was the first venue that we looked at in January 2012 and I fell in love with it straight away. It felt very romantic. We wanted our wedding to be a relaxed day that we could enjoy with our friends and family but I also wanted it to have a traditional and classic feel. During the ceremony our daughter Olivia read a piece she had written about us and how much we meant to her – it was very emotional.
“As the wedding was just before Christmas our colours were Olive green, gold and ivory. There was such a warm glow from twinkling lights, with lots of candles and pearls to really complete the look. The theme continued with my wedding outfit as I wore a friends pearl necklace and earrings and my veil and hair slide were ivory with very subtle sparkles. The overall look of our wedding was better than I could have hoped for. On all of our stationery we had two little characters of myself and Don to make it feel a little more personalised – we run a family printers, Jenwood Printers, in Sheerness so that definitely helped!
“We had a traditional menu by caterers, Scott Anderson, of Winter vegetable soup, Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and Crème Brulee. Our reception drink was hot mulled wine. Our wedding cake was cupcakes made by a friend Lisa Burke. The Flower Company in Sheerness supplied by flowers. I love the smell of freesias and I wanted the flowers to look very simple but pretty. I had ivory freesias with pearls and sparkles in the bouquet, tied with an ivory ribbon and the bridesmaids and flower girls had bouquets of gyp, tied with ivory ribbon.
“Kerry Ann Duffy was our photographer and she was fantastic. During the day we were also filming a Marryoke, with TDH Media which everyone really enjoyed. We also had up-close magician, Spencer Wood, who did fantastic tricks throughout our pre-dinner drinks and the wedding breakfast. In the evening we had a photo booth by Julian Austin Photography with Apollo Funk DJing. Our first dance was a little different as we did a mix up – we’re not great dancers but we gave it our best shot with tunes including Utah Saints, Big Fish, Tom Jones, Gangnam Style and the Black Eyed Peas “The Time (Dirty Bit)”
Because we had started so early the DJ finished up at 10.30pm with us doing a last dance to Take That’s “Greatest Day” which I cried throughout as I was so happy and didn’t want the day to end!
Thanks to Carla and Don for sharing their wedding day with us and don’t forget to check out the new Mr & Mrs Jenkins in their Marryoke Video!

Myself and Joanne were majorly excited when we happily skipped off to take a look around the Tunbridge Wells regency townhouse that is the gorgeous setting for bridal boutique, Isabella Grace. With a recent expansion the boutique is welcoming more brides than ever through their very elegant front door.
Looking through the front window you get just a tantalising peek of the gorgeousness thats waiting for you inside. Owner, Rebecca Doyle, is no stranger to weddings as she also runs multi-award winning bridal accessory brand, Chez Bec, but had always dreamed of opening her own boutique.
She told us “It is only 14 months since we opened Isabella Grace and it is hard to believe how far our and our brides’ expectations have been exceeded. We literally tripled in size within a year of opening and now have four floors with three private fitting suites, two showrooms and a separate alterations suite.
“I was delighted when one of our brides coined the phrase “The Isabella Grace Experience” to express how happy she had been with the service – it was the ultimate shopping experience for her and this was our aim from the very start. Choosing the dress you wear on your wedding day is a girl’s most important shopping decision – we not only go the extra mile, we outstrip it!
“Our brides very much become part of the Isabella Grace family and they leave hugging and kissing us – some even in tears when their Isabella Grace experience comes to an end!”
Collections include Paloma Blanca, So Sassi, LM by Lusan Mangonus, Enzoani, Nicola Anne, Sophia Tolli, Martina Liana and Charlotte Balbier with prices ranging from £1000 to £2,500.
We loved the ambiance, atmosphere and luxurious feel of Isabella Grace that really makes this boutique stand out from the crowd. But Brides nearly always say its the exceptional quality of customer service that means they would recommend this boutique time and time again.
Go take a look – you won’t be disappointed!

I need to cut up my credit card because I’ve found a website where I might just spend a fortune. Stella & Dot are a really unique jewellery shop and have a fantastic range of products for your wedding day (and if you’re like me any other occasion!). The Stella and Dot collections are designed by an in-house team over in New York. Fear not though as us English girls have a few ways to buy, either online or through trunk shows. The trunk shows give you a chance to view the collections and have a fun girls night to boot, all with a local Stella & Dot stylist. Here are just two of our favourite pieces but there’s loads more to choose from. Plus it might just set you on a new career path as you can find out more about launching your own business as a Stella & Dot Stylist!
